Iā€™ve been MIA on this account for some time now Iā€™ve been MIA on this account for some time now - mainly because moving across the country has been a much bigger adjustment than I anticipated! I still donā€™t exactly feel ā€˜settledā€™ and itā€™s nearly been a year. I canā€™t believe it. Iā€™ll give everyone a lilā€™ update. When I took these photos back in May of 2022, I had already decided to move to Austin. I was so excited, nervous, but I couldnā€™t wait for a fresh start. Now itā€™s been 10 months in my new city. To be vulnerable, itā€™s been maybe the hardest 10 months of my life. Donā€™t get me wrong, I love Austin, and canā€™t wait to continue my life here but I do miss the simplicity of life in Green Bay. Finding my ā€˜careerā€™ here has been my biggest struggle. Iā€™ve been so torn for months on which direction I want to pursue. Iā€™ve been job hunting for months on end, and if anyone can relate itā€™s been just as awful as it sounds. Job scams, ghosting, & soooo many interviews. (Ps. Iā€™m looking for a job in marketing) Unfortunately companies hiring donā€™t care that you ran a business for 7 years. šŸ¤£ Thereā€™s a massive stereotype surrounding photography, itā€™s always been looked at as ā€œa fun side gig.ā€ Which has been a huge disadvantage when trying to pitch myself. Iā€˜ve been asked so many times why I donā€™t continue my business here, and truthfully itā€™s so overwhelming to even think about starting a business in a new place. BUT despite that, Iā€™ve finally decided to take on the challenge of being at the bottom of the totem pole again šŸ˜‚. Even if it is just a ā€œfun side gigā€ for me. So Iā€™ll be attempting to promote my senior photography here in Austin a bit more. SO if youā€™re a high school or college senior graduating in 2024 in Austin or surrounding suburbs - Iā€™m your girl!! You can inquire through the link in my bio.
