My Apartment Tour! – Green Bay Wisconsin Photographer Carlee Secor
My apartment lease is up soon, and we decided not to renew it. Mainly because I really need a second bedroom for an office, and my apartment also lacks the normal apartment things. I don’t have in-unit laundry, no garage, and no privacy (loft living). Apartments surrounding me offer all these things for the same price I pay, or less so I decided it was a good time to move.
The main reason I love my apartment, is because it isnt your average cookie-cutter place. Which is extremly hard to find anything but cookie-cutter in my area. My apartment is totally my style, when I have the ability to afford a house I WILL buy an old home (hopefully with exposed brick but I may be asking too much). I will try and share where I got all the home decor and furniture, I could NOT make up my mind on how to decorate. So if it looks very mismatched… thats why (bare with me).
So I really attempted to go for the bo-ho eclectic look, and I failed. I’m normally not a color person, so the rug was a little out of my comfort zone. The 8×10 rug is from Wayfair, and its very cheap. The succulents I got in the dollar section at Target. The end tables and coffee table was purchased from WGNR, but they sell them on Wayfair for a quarter of the price (PSA: ALWAYS look on wayfair first). My couch and chairs are also from Wayfair, it is not the greatest quality couch and is more of a sitting couch rather than an everyday couch, but what can you do! The chairs are nice, but they were cheap (I dont sit in them often)!
My TV stand “Dresser”, was an old hand-me-down from my Aunt. It started off green, then we painted it black, now its white. It’s getting old but I think its such a staple piece in my living room. I love my high ceilings, wood beams and giant windows. I’ll miss the windows the most.
My relaxing buddha man is from my all time favorite store, Tj Maxx. He’s also my favorite buddha, I have a lot.
My Bar stools are from Target! Although they are cute, they are not comfortable. They were super cheap though, I wouldn’t invest a lot in bar stools since every bar height is different. I may sell them or use them as plant stands if they don’t work in my next place.
The desk is from Amazon, and I built it all by myself! I love all the storage, it was something I really needed for all the hours I spend editing. I hope I can showcase my desk better at my next place. The desk chair is a hand-me-down but it is pretty uncomfortable.
My Kelly Moore Bag deserved its own portrait shot, I love this camera bag. It works well for all my smaller shoots, if you do shoot mainly weddings I wouldn’t recommend since it is pretty small. BUT Its cute, so thats a plus. The green friendly buddha was also a Tj Maxx purchase and the desk/console table was custom built & is for sale 😉 If your local that is.
‘Hello’ sign was purchased from Hobby Lobby, (finally a new store is thrown in) and so was the entry way chest, which is so cute. The flowers and garden vase is a Target Dollar Section find, if you dont shop in the dollar section- you should.
Yay! On to my bedroom, I still dont have bedroom furniture. I’m too in decisive to invest in anything that I will have long term, so for now I have simple end tables and am luckily able to store everything else in my closet.
The ‘J’ and ‘C’ letters are from Gordmans, if your wondering who ‘J’ is its my boyfriend, Johannes but we just call him Peter 😉 My headboard was made by me, and its SUPER easy to make one if you are on a budget. You can also change out the fabric color whenever you decide to redecorate which is amazing if your like me and want to redecorate everyday! The lamp was from Tj Maxx as well as the end table and front throw pillow. The furry pillows I bought at target and the burlap ones were a DIY.
My rug is from Wayfair, it is a 5×7 and is REALLY soft and plush. I used to have it in my living room, but it was too small for the space. My cowhide bed seat was a Tj Maxx find and I love it so much!
The amazing oversized leaning mirror was the best purchase I’ve ever made, from Tj Maxx of course. They always carry amazing mirrors similar to mine. I loved how massive it was!
Now I come to the end of my post and I’m so sad I have to say goodbye to my apartment soon! I’m also really excited to decorate a new space, and sell all my old stuff 😉 I hope you enjoyed a look inside my apartment!
